i'm fascinated by the non-dissertation stuff you're doing! submitting articles, starting the job search, presenting at conferences. crap, you're already more of a scholar than some folks i know who have finished and graduated. don't lose sight of the big prize. i have it on good authority that starting an academic position while still trying to finish your dissertation is NOT an easy task. in fact, i hear it's near-murder.
